Our Workshops

In this 3.5 hour craft class you will get a chance to experiment with the timeless art of textile surface design by blockprinting by hand; Additionally you'll learn how to transform your work into a handstitched hat à la machinemachine. This Small Craft Advisory session is hosted by Shannon Hiramoto, designer and owner of machinemachine apparel and co-proprietor of Workshop: A Collective. It will be held at Warehouse 3540 in Lawai on Sunday May 21 from 3:00-6:30pm. There are only 10 spots available!

Blockprinting is a beautful and relatively simple way to trasfer images on to any flat surface. We'll be using linoleum blocks that I've designed and carved in a variety of themes (lines, waves, plants, animals, geometry, etc).  You'll be able to print create your textile using black ink on cream linen. Once your fabric is dry and heat-set, you will each cut, sew, and handstitch your one-of-a-kind panel onto a trucker hat of your color choice. Our company been creating handstitched hats since 2008 and is happy to share the fun of making this product with you.
